How to write a CV that gets noticed

Make a clear, honest CV that employers can scan in seconds.

  1. 1

Keep it to one or two pages

Lead with your most recent and relevant experience. Recruiters skim, so cut anything that does not support the job you want.

  2. 2

Write a short headline and summary

Open with one line naming your role and strengths, followed by two or three sentences about what you do best.

  3. 3

    Show results, not duties

Instead of listing tasks, say what changed because of you, for example: cut report time from two days to one.

  4. 4

    Match the job

Reuse the key skills and words from the job post where they are true, and keep your skills section up to date.
